Precision engineering
Finecut reaches a new level of positioning precision and repeatability
Verified performance from delivered 3-axis Finecut systems has raised the standard specification to ±1.5 µm for both positioning accuracy and repeatability.

A system-level improvement
The improvement comes from coordinated work across the complete machine architecture: greater structural stiffness, improved thermal stability, refined motion control and interpolation, tighter CNC and drive integration, and enhanced calibration and compensation. The result is smoother path execution, less accumulated error and stable performance over time.
What it changes in production
Because Finecut removes material without a heat-affected zone, microstructural alteration or tool-induced stress, machine motion becomes a defining factor for final part quality. The updated capability supports higher geometric accuracy, stronger edge consistency and lower part-to-part variation.
Verified where it matters
The specification applies to newly produced systems and is verified during installation and commissioning. Depending on configuration and technical evaluation, an upgrade may also be possible for installed systems.
Micro abrasive waterjet tolerances
Finecut is a high-precision micro abrasive waterjet machining system. Newly produced 3-axis Finecut systems are specified with positioning accuracy and repeatability of ±1.5 µm. Depending on material, thickness, geometry and machine configuration, finished-part tolerances down to ±10 µm can be achieved in suitable applications.
Machine positioning and repeatability specifications should not be interpreted as guaranteed finished-part tolerances. The achievable part result must always be verified for the individual application.
“When structure, motion control and calibration are optimised simultaneously, the effect becomes multiplicative.”
