The challenge

As a precision contract manufacturer, Boneham & Turner needed a flexible process for intricate components, difficult materials and short production runs. Conventional machining could deliver the geometry, but selected jobs required long cycle times and several process steps.

02

The Finecut solution

The company selected a Finecut micro abrasive waterjet system after evaluating the most efficient options. Cold, low-force cutting allows the same process to handle a broad range of materials without dedicated cutting tools, heat-affected zones or wire start holes.

The system was installed remotely during travel restrictions. Finepart supported commissioning and the production start from Sweden, demonstrating that the platform and training process could be transferred successfully without an on-site Finepart team.

03

The production result

Boneham & Turner reported substantial time savings on selected precision parts. One production sequence was reduced from 90 minutes to eight minutes; another job fell from four hours to around 20 minutes.

“The time savings are colossal.”
