Finepart has selected IGEMS as its CAD/CAM partner and software supplier since the beginning of the Finecut system range. IGEMS is developed specifically for waterjet cutting and complements Finecut precision, flexibility and multi-axis capability.
Customers receive an integrated environment for preparing geometries, generating cutting paths and creating machine-ready programs. Programming can be automated or fully customised—including cutting quality, lead-ins, piercing methods, cutting sequence and process parameters.

- 01Prepare the geometry
Draw in CAD or import production geometry. CAM Tools can close gaps, remove overlaps and simplify contours without changing their intended dimensions.
- 02Calculate and program the trial cut
Use material type, thickness, water pressure, abrasive flow and target quality to calculate initial cutting parameters. Review the toolpaths in simulation and generate a trial program with the post-processor matched to your Finecut system.
- 03Verify the cutting results
Cut a representative part, then measure dimensions, taper and surface finish against the requirements. Process capability is verified through actual cutting results; simulation alone cannot establish the achieved part quality.
- 04Adjust, repeat and release
Use measured deviations to refine compensation, cutting speed and process settings. Regenerate the program and repeat the cut-and-measure cycle until the required result is achieved. Release the verified program and settings for production.

Standard 2D work starts with commonly used DXF and DWG files. The appropriate IGEMS modules add further formats and enable 3D-model import for advanced programming.

CAD
The required foundation for 2D drawing, editing, layers and geometry functions.
CAM Tools
Repairs and optimises imported geometry by closing gaps, removing overlaps and simplifying contours without changing dimensions.
3-Axis CAM
Generates programs for conventional 2D and 3-axis waterjet cutting.
AWJ
Optimises abrasive-waterjet speeds and parameters from material, thickness, pressure and abrasive flow. Requires 3-Axis CAM.
5-Axis CAM
Provides 3D programming for angled, bevelled and multi-axis cutting, including STEP and IGES import. Requires 3-Axis CAM.
Nest Level 1
Adds semi-automatic nesting for more efficient use of sheet and material.
Nest Level 2
Automatically nests multiple different parts within a defined area. Requires Nest Level 1.
Data Exchange
Expands supported file formats and adds tools for importing existing NC code.
Rotation Axis
Supports programming of tubes, cylindrical components and parts mounted on a rotary axis.
Organizer
Stores parts, drawings, materials, thicknesses, quantities and related documents in a structured database.
